Animal Behaviorist
An Animal Behaviorist is interested in exactly what you think they would be; the study of animal behavior. There are many different reasons to watch what animals do. Some of these include: helping people understand animal behavior in nature, watching and treating domestic animal behavior problems (pets, etc.), learning more about human thoughts and behavior, designing healthy homes for animals in zoos, or training animals to perform for people. The training to obtain a job in the field of animal behavior varies greatly but most jobs require a Master's or Doctorate degree.
There are many different routes to take when pursuing a degree. Some of these include a degree in physiology or biochemistry for health-related jobs. Animal educators may have a degree in biological or behavioral sciences.
The field of animal behaviorist is competitive. People interested in this field often need to have knowledge of several different areas such as psychology, biology, or zoology.
