Property, Real Estate, and Community Association Managers
Special Requirements
Managers of public housing subsidized by the Federal Government are required to be certified.
Other property managers may choose to earn a professional designation because it represents formal industry recognition of achievement and status.
Professional Associations offer education and training resulting in certification
Some of the classes offered by these professional associations may be:
- insurance and risk management
- operation and maintenance of building mechanical systems
- enhancing property values
- personnel management
- business and real estate law
- resident/tenant relations
- communications
- accounting and financial concepts
Other requirements for certification may include completion of classes listed above, achieving a certain score on an examination, and work experience.
